Child Care Options—How to Be a Mom and Make it Back to Work
with Jean Rowcliffe and Stacy Paxton

To continue to educate women and families on choices available to them. To encourage thoughtful decisions regarding childcare by providing insights and history on childcare both here and in Europe. Participants will leave this seminar with valuable tools and information and some important questions they will need to answer to help them determine what the best childcare solution is for their family.

Entrepreneur's Soul—What is an Entrepreneur and what does it take to become one?
with Jennifer Chapin

Let's demystify the term "Entrepreneur" and help fuel your dreams and aspirations in an honest, realistic approach. In this fun, interactive session, we will explore what it means to be an entrepreneur, discover what it takes to be one, and discuss entrepreneurial possibilities and pathways to success. By the end of the session participants will have a clear view of entrepreneurialism and gain a better understanding of what it takes to be a successful, thriving Entrepreneur. All participants will receive a complimentary one hour Entrepreneurial consultation with Jennifer Chapin.

Financial Planning—Reach Your Financial Goals and Get What You Want
with Troy Collins

Participants will start thinking about goals and how best to achieve them by using the financial tools available in the marketplace. Participants will learn how financial advisors work, how different investments work, and be able to determine which ones are best for them. We will discuss creating cash reserves, 529 plans to fund education, tax strategies, protecting your assets, qualified v. non-qualified investments, and overall financial planning strategies.

Life Insurance
with Troy Collins

Life insurance is a financial planning tool that is can be used to protect dependents and as an investment vehicle. On the panel, we will discuss the various types of life insurance and the circumstances under which life insurance is an appropriate investment.

Health Insurance
with Gena Stephens

The health presentation will focus on issues important to consider when deciding among various health insurance products, including the difference between a PPO and HMO; co-pays and one deductible policies; prescription coverage and the cost and demand of generic vs. named brands.

Property/Casualty Insurance
with Michael Reidenbach

Property and casualty insurance protects your personal assets, such as your home and your automobile. On the panel, we will discuss your options for protecting these personal assets and how deductibles and premiums will impact your finances.

Disability Insurance

Unfortunately, your ability to earn a living can be taken away instantly if you are struck by a sudden accident or an unexpected illness. None of us can avoid the risk of a disability. However, you can be prepared. On the panel, we will discuss how disability insurance works and the criteria to use when evaluating an income protection insurance policy.

Long Term Care (LTC)

Find out what long term care insurance is, how it works, and who it is for. Gain a greater understanding of your long term care options and whether or not it might be right for you. In addition to sharing some valuable material on the panel, an excellent article about long term care will be distributed to all participants.

Investing in Real Estate—Beyond the Personal Residence

This seminar will cover strategies for building wealth through the purchase and exchange of income-producing real estate.  Topics discussed will include:  liabilities versus assets; advantages of real estate compared to stocks and other investments—leverage, tax benefits, and exchanges; how to get started; how to value a building; commercial properties versus residential apartments. 

Investing and Retirement
with Rachel Robasciotti

This workshop will provide participants with an understanding of the essentials of investing for personal and retirement goals. Participants will learn about the various investing options, including mutual funds, stocks, and bonds. This workshop will also decode some of the investing terms, such as index funds, income stocks, growth stocks, long-term v. short-term gains, tax-deferred v. tax-free. The participants will be introduced to the various investing vehicles for retirement, including 401(k), IRAs, Roth IRAs.

Marriage: Your Rights Before, During and After
with Maraka Willits

A discussion of how California Family Law affects women considering marriage, having or adopting children or seeking a divorce. Participants will gain with a greater understanding of their legal rights concerning marriage and divorce and will feel empowered to make informed choices about the way in which they form and protect their families. Participants will leave with an increased understanding of the laws concerning marriage, the legal process relating to dissolution and how pre-nuptial agreements and marital agreements can (and cannot) be used to protect assets.

Master Your Money: Credit, Debt and Savings Strategies

Mortgages and Home Ownership

In this workshop, participants will learn the essentials for buying a home, including understanding down payments, various types of mortgages, fixed v. variable mortgage rates, closing costs, and commissions. Participants will engage in a practical discussion about the options for home ownership and strategies for buying a home.

Negotiating Skills

Everyone Negotiates. Whether discussing household chores with a family member, getting the best deal on a purchase, or working out a conflict with someone at home or in the office, everyone negotiates something just about every day. This interactive workshop will introduce participants to the basic principles of interest-based negotiation and the basic negotiation process. Participants will recognize the importance of managing negative emotions in a negotiation, identify listening behaviors that facilitate negotiation and learn the difference between positions (demands) and interests (needs).

Presentation Skills - Finding Your Voice: Speaking with Power

This session will focus on helping you overcome performance anxiety and step into your power as an effective communicator. Wills and Trusts
